At Head & Heart, we do innovative aesthetic facial rejuvenation utilizing natural substances to restore volume, enhance contours, and rejuvenate the skin. Unlike traditional dermal fillers made from synthetic materials, biofillers, Platelet Derived Growth Factors (PDGF), and PRP/PRF are derived from biocompatible materials, often using substances that are naturally found in the body.
Benefits of Biofiller Facial Rejuvenation
- Natural-Looking Results:
- Biofillers are designed to mimic natural tissue, resulting in a more organic appearance compared to traditional synthetic fillers.
- Biocompatibility:
- Since biofillers utilize naturally occurring substances, they are less likely to cause allergic reactions or adverse effects.
- Stimulates Collagen:
- Certain biofillers, especially those that contain components like calcium hydroxyapatite or fat, can stimulate the body’s own collagen production, leading to long-term improvements in skin elasticity and firmness.
- Versatile Application:
- Biofillers can be used in various facial areas, including cheeks, lips, nasolabial folds (smile lines), and under the eyes to restore volume and smooth out wrinkles.
- Minimal Downtime:
- Biofiller procedures are generally minimally invasive, with less downtime compared to surgical options. Most patients can return to normal activities shortly after treatment.
The Biofiller Facial Rejuvenation Process
- Injection:
- The biofiller is injected into targeted areas using fine needles or cannulas. The practitioner skillfully places the filler to achieve the desired contours and volume.
- Post-Treatment Care:
- After the procedure, patients may experience slight swelling or bruising at injection sites, which typically resolves quickly. An aftercare plan will be provided, often suggesting gentle skincare routines and avoiding strenuous activity for a day or two.
Biofiller facial rejuvenation is an excellent option for individuals seeking natural-looking volume restoration and skin revitalization. By utilizing materials that mimic the body’s own tissues and stimulating collagen production, this treatment can achieve beautiful, long-lasting results.

Biofiller, PRP/PRF, and PDGF PRE-CARE
Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate – especially if doing PRP/PRF or Biofiller! Drink at least 64 oz of water and eat a good snack before coming to prepare for the blood draw.
You may consider taking 2000 mg of Vitamin C daily before your treatment to help improve the quality of the biofiller or PRP/PRF. It also may aid in recovery time. The earlier you start, the better!
To lessen your chance of irritation & redness, pause the use of Retinol & exfoliating acids 3 days before your treatment & for 3 days after.
If you develop a fever, cold, or flu symptoms, or develop a cold sore, blemish, or rash, etc. in the area to be treated prior to your appointment, you must reschedule (we will not treat you).
It is recommended, if you have a special event or vacation coming up, that you schedule your treatment at least 2 weeks in advance (we prefer 3-4).
Discontinue the use of anti-inflammatory drugs (steroidal and non-steroidal) such as Aspirin, Motrin (or any other Ibuprofen drugs) at least 3 days to 1 week before your treatment. With biofiller, we “want” inflammation as this is one of the mechanisms of how biofiller does its work. If you are or have been on systemic use of corticosteroids (steroids) within 2 weeks of treatment, we cannot treat you. Consult your physician for approval to discontinue the use of steroids and receive treatment.
Discontinue use of any other blood thinning agents such as Vitamin E, Vitamin A,
Gingko Biloba, Garlic, Flax Oil, Cod Liver Oil, Essential Fatty Acids (EFA’s and DHA’s), garlic supplements etc. at least 3 days to 1 week before and after treatment to minimize bruising and bleeding.
It is recommended that you avoid: Alcohol, caffeine, Niacin supplement, spicy foods, and cigarettes 3 days before and after your treatment. (All of these may increase the risk of bruising).

If you experience discomfort or pain, you may take acetaminophen/Tylenol as directed.
You may apply ice to the injected area for 20-30 minutes after the procedure for comfort.
Do not wash the area or take a shower for at least 6 hours after your treatment.
Do not use any lotions, creams, or make-up for at least 6 hours after your treatment.
